Immersive Flight to The Moon

Apollo 11, which launched by a Saturn V rocket from Kennedy Space Center on Merritt Island, Florida, on July 16 at 13:32 UTC, was the spaceflight that first landed humans on the Moon. Commander Neil Armstrong and lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin formed the American crew that landed the Apollo Lunar ModuleEagle on July 20, 1969. And Armstrong became the first person to step onto the lunar surface six hours 39 minutes later on July 21 at 02:56 UTC; Aldrin joined him 19 minutes later. Even though the Apollo 11 moon landing was dogged by controversy in such a long period, it did affect the generations.

Recently, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing of the Apollo 11, there are more and more Lego fans cannot keep still anymore. Especially when LEGO released a life-sized model of the lunar module pilot and the iconic A7L spacesuit that the real pilot wore on July 20, 1969 at Tranquility Base. Even if you are a passer-by, you must be attracted by this great job.

“For nearly 20 years, NASA and LEGO Group have collaborated on projects to inspire the next generation to imagine and build their future in space," said Bettina Inclán, NASA's associate administrator for communications, in a statement issued by LEGO. "Our latest efforts celebrate the incredible feats we achieved during Apollo 50 years ago."

Anyway, we are excited to see this great project, meanwhile, we can also have a look at some smaller bricks to satisfy our craving. Here are some popular bricks of Apollo 11. Let’s see what’s new.

NASA Apollo Spacecraft

The Apollo spacecraft was composed of three parts designed to accomplish the American Apollo program's goal of landing astronauts on the Moon by the end of the 1960s and returning them safely to Earth.

We cannot experience this process but we can experience the process of building the bricks of it.

NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander # 10266

Celebrate man’s first moon landing with this LEGO® Creator Expert 10266 NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander building set—developed in cooperation with NASA to mark the 50th anniversary of a historical event that captivated the world. Although its details are great but it looks too grim so how about light it up to witness the historic moment.

NASA Apollo Saturn V #21309

If you want to make your NASA Apollo Saturn V rocket more realistic, then what about adding some flares on it after it was launched? It doesn’t mean that you have to burn it to make a flame but lighting it up with similar color of flare to make it cool and distinctive.

Acrylic Display box - NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander # 10266

Taking an acrylic display box to protect your amazing LEGO NASA Apollo 11 model to avoid accidentally touch to be toppled down and you can also display it to your friends. It must be more cooler than the one without it as well as the box can luster your model with its moon light blue.

The first moon landing of Apollo 11 is an immersive flight. Whatever it’s real or not, it did affect our generation and it will continue to affect the next generation. Therefore, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of it, you can make your own Apollo 11 models to mark this historic moment and it maybe a moment of your life as a lego fan. Welcome your exploration in Vonado.
