Juno (also Jupiter Polar Orbiter) is a NASA space probe that explores the gas planet Jupiter from a polar orbit. It was launched on August 5, 2011 and entered orbit around Jupiter on July 5, 2016. Juno is the second space probe in NASA's New Frontiers program after New Horizons and can therefore cost a maximum of 700 million US dollars.
